Executive Board

President

Over the past three years, Sarah and her family have felt privileged to immerse themselves in this amazing community—connecting with dedicated coaches, board members, and volunteers, while watching their son thrive and chase his soccer dreams on the field.

She initially began as an assistant coach for a  spirited NCSC team of first and second graders and, inspired by the impact of NCSC’s scholarship opportunities and its mission to make soccer accessible to all, joined the board to further this cause. She previously served as an at-large board member on the Fundraising Committee.

Sarah holds an MBA from Willamette University and has a professional background in project management within the Behavioral Healthcare nonprofit sector. She brings both strategic insight and organizational expertise to the club and is also a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, She is deeply committed to the health and well-being of our youth.

Sarah’s primary goals include a focus on strengthening the club’s financial stability, supporting effective coaching, and fostering skill development at all levels of play. Guided by a servant leadership philosophy, Sarah always returns to one key question: “How does this help kids play soccer?”

She appreciates all of the community support as we work together to empower the next generation of athletes and community leaders!

Vice President

Jacob is eager to serve as NCSC’s Vice President and help write the next chapter for this fifty year old soccer club. As a native Oregonian, he grew up playing recreational soccer in Portland with the Mt. Tabor Soccer Club. Jacob recalls being mesmerized as a kid when he saw the 1990 FIFA World Cup final on cable TV with his coach and teammates. More recently, he has returned to soccer as a parent, coaching his daughter’s recreational team since 2021. Jacob completed some grassroots coaching courses through U.S. Soccer and previously served on the board of the Milwaukie Soccer Club. He remains a fan of the beautiful game too. He enjoys watching the Portland Thorns compete and tries to catch matches when he is fortunate enough to travel; a favorite was seeing the Rangers play in a tournament in Glasgow, Scotland.

Treasurer

As a native Oregonian, Sarah graduated from Milwaukie High and still lives close to her childhood home. She is married with 2 boys, Wyatt and Gavin. Gavin is the reason Sarah became involved as a board member. He loves soccer and she wanted to take an active role. Since soccer is a “new sport” to Sarah, she wanted to help in a capacity with which she is familiar; numbers! Her day job is as an accountant with NCSD and when she was asked by the previous Treasurer if she wanted to help out, she readily agreed.

One of the many reasons Sarah loves our club is the inclusion of all players from all levels. The coaches spend a lot of hours working and helping players at their level. They see the potential of every player, from beginnings to veterans.

Sarah loves being part of NCSC and supporting the players’ growth and passion for game!

Secretary

Dzuigas serves as one of NCSC’s treasurers, primarily for the NCA side of the club. He started playing soccer as a kid and played through high school and then off and on as an adult.  When his son started playing around 2016, he jumped into coaching at the recreational level in NoPo for the Irving Soccer Club and then Clackamas United after moving to Milwaukie.  Once his son made the jump to competitive and joined Thelo United, he switched over to volunteering on the board as treasurer.  Dzuigas is committed to helping this club provide affordable, fun, and community driven soccer for all levels of play.

His daughter joined Thelo, now NCA, for the 2023-2024 season and continues to play with the NCA ‘08 girls as well as her high school team. Bill sees soccer as a lifelong opportunity to maintain one’s health and fitness, especially for those of us who find solo exercise boring!

As an avid music fanatic, Glen has been collecting albums, 45s, and compact discs since 1978 and listening to old American Top 40 countdowns with Casey Kasem is his jam! He also enjoys eating a variety of restaurants in the greater Portland area with his wife and daughter.

Since his body is a little too old to play competitive sports, coaching young players in the sport of soccer is where his competitive juices thrive. He thinks there is nothing better than going into another opponents venue and watching his teams play as hard as they can and succeed not only on the soccer field but in building friendships and team unity.

Glen has: been coaching since Fall of 2012, served as the club Registrar since Spring of 2017, and has been trying to figure out the significance of the off-sides rule since forever 😆

Soccer and Little League Baseball/Softball tend to be the first team sports that four and five year old children tend to get involved with; our Club does our best to ensure these young players have a great experience learning to play this fantastic sport!

Assistant Director of Coaching, Recreational

Coach Javier lives and breathes soccer! Even though he never had any formal soccer training, his love for the game runs deep and it all started from the moment he kicked his first ball as a kid. Soccer has been a constant part of his life, shaping him as a player and now a coach.

Having spent countless years on both indoor and outdoor fields as a player, he gained valuable insights into the game’s nuances. It’s been a thrilling journey, and he’s always been eager to share his experiences with others. Three years ago, he decided to volunteer to coach a couple of teams for his local kids recreational league. Watching them learn, grow, and fall in love with soccer has been incredibly rewarding for Javier.

Recently, I received an amazing opportunity to coach the local competitive team of U13 players. The opportunity came not because of any formal qualifications but because of my attitude, patience, and understanding of the sport. I believe in creating a positive and supportive environment for my players, inspiring them to push their limits and embrace the joy of the sport. It’s not just about winning games; it’s about instilling a passion for soccer that will stay with them throughout their lives. I’m thrilled to be part of their journey and help nurture the next generation of soccer stars

Co-Technical Director

Bill serves as one of the Technical Directors for NCA, bringing over 20 years of coaching experience at all levels, from kindergarten to recreational, competitive, premier, and even international. Known for a strong emphasis on technical skills, Bill believes that touchwork and skill development are the foundation of success in soccer, teaching players that ball control is more critical than speed, strength, or strategy.

Throughout his coaching career, Bill has led teams to progress from Recreational to Premier levels, earning victories in local tournaments and representing their teams in international competitions. He holds a US Soccer D License and numerous diplomas and certifications, including specialized education in Futsal from US Soccer and United Soccer Coaches.

In addition to coaching, Bill has served in many capacities on various soccer boards for nearly two decades, contributing to the growth and development of the sport in their community. His favorite moments in coaching come from witnessing players discover their untapped potential and watching his three children grow as players from kindergarten through high school, sharing unforgettable time together on the pitch.

Maurissa, originally from the sunshine state, somehow ended up growing up in the wilds of Alaska – life’s funny that way, right? After some adventures in Colorado, where she became a proud alumna of Colorado State University – go Rams! – and exploring Florida and Washington, she finally settled down in Milwaukie, Oregon, which she now proudly calls home.

In her youth, soccer was an adventure – from playing for her school’s soccer team to pick-up games between seasons. Now that she has kids, she is their biggest fan! You’ll find her on the sidelines cheering for them and used to coach one of her daughter’s kindergarten teams. There’s nothing cuter than  watching kindergartens play.

Living in a blended family with her love, they enjoy their neighborhood and embarking on travel adventures whenever possible. When North Clackamas Soccer Club (NCSC) asked her to assist with the club’s social media, she was hesitant at first due to time constraints but saying “yes” turned out to be one of her best decisions. Showcasing these kids is incredibly rewarding, and witnessing the friendships and camaraderie within the club is a true joy.

When not working, you can find Maurissa trying new recipes and making things from scratch, often discovered on TikTok and Instagram. She have a knack for finding good restaurants, recipes, and travel destinations in the vast sea of social media content out there. If you spot her at an NCSC event, don’t be shy; say hi! One of her kids, who earned the nickname ‘The Flash’ while playing for North Clackamas Soccer Club, is now making her mark with Willamette United Football Club. Maurissa and her family enjoy watching the Portland Thorns–Sophia Smith is their favorite–and Timbers play; this adds a dash of excitement to their love for the beautiful game. She finds it an honor to serve on the NCSC board and cheering on the larger NCSC family!

Kindi / Mini Coordinator

Nicole grew up in a really small town in Virginia where there was not much to do. When she was 3 she was introduced to soccer and has played ever since. Some of her favorite childhood memories are from her first few seasons of soccer and that is the reason she wanted to be the K-2 coordinator.

Field Coordinator

Brandon grew up playing American football and baseball and never thought he would be interested in soccer. He then had two daughters, the youngest of who–Gretchen–wanted to play soccer, and the club needed coaches so he reluctantly agreed to do it “for one year”. He didn’t realize at the time that he was going to absolutely fall in love coaching those kids knowing the impact this might have on their lives as ell as his own. Over three years later and he doesn’t see an end in sight.
He got involved with the NCSC board as the fields coordinator because it’s important to him that kids start with a good foundation, and that starts with a nice pitch to play on.

Josh has lived in the North Clackamas community for over 14 years. He graduated from OSU in 2000 and has worked for many companies including Starbucks, REI and RAD Power Bikes in product support and management. Josh is an avid mountain biker, although he doesn’t get out as much as he would like. He has 2 children Eli 15 and Tayah 10 who both have enjoyed playing soccer with NCSC.

Eli was in 3rd grade when Bill Kayser was his coach and he recalls Bill sharing that parents should not say anything on the sideline except for cheers. He said that is any parents wanted to say something about skills and strategy, then you would have to be a coach! Knowing himself, Josh asked to be the assistant coach on Eli’s team although he never played soccer; he was a basketball player.

He has learned much about soccer including rules, strategies, and how to manage youth. He end all of my practices with a cheer of “Family!” That is what these teams become. If you are ever thinking about coaching it is a highly rewarding experience teaching and bonding with everyone involved.

Assistant Director of Coaching, NCA

Dina grew up playing competitive soccer in the Portland metro area through high school. In 2019, she began playing futsal several times a week with many of her former teammates, which reignited her love for the game.

Once her children started playing, she began coaching their recreational teams with Gladstone Soccer Association. In 2023, she and her son transitioned to competitive soccer, joining a U11 Thelo team, where she has assisted in coaching alongside two former NCSC coaches. She will continue coaching competitive soccer with NCA while also leading her daughter’s recreational team.

Through his experiences as a coach and in helping other families navigate the world of competitive soccer, she has developed a passion for making the sport accessible at all levels and at an affordable price. She is excited to be part of a larger community that supports current NCA coaches and helps new coaches transition from the recreational level.

Director of Coaching

In his youth, Brian began playing soccer at the age of four and continued through high school. Some of his fondest childhood memories include watching German soccer games with his father, particularly admiring Lothar Matthäus, the German national team’s center midfielder. He was captivated by Matthäus’ ability to see the field and bend the ball on his shots.

Brian started coaching with North Clackamas Soccer Club 14 years ago when his eldest son, Paxton, was in kindergarten. Their journey eventually transitioned to competitive soccer in Paxton’s eighth-grade year to prepare for high school. That pivotal year as a coach deepened his understanding of the game and reinforced his passion for player development. Recognizing the need for stronger competition, he later brought his daughter’s team into the competitive circuit as well. Though they were winning in recreational soccer, he saw the importance of greater challenges to foster growth.

Paxton will be attending Oregon State in the fall, marking the end of their player-coach journey—an experience he will always cherish. He hopes that one day, they will share the pitch again as coaches. Meanwhile, his daughter, Paityn, will be entering her freshman year at Clackamas High School, and he is eager to see her grow in this new environment, confident that she has developed the skills necessary to succeed both in soccer and academics. His youngest son, Seeley, is in third grade and will be learning the game alongside him through their new developmental program.

Coaching three teams in recent years has been both rewarding and challenging, but he is grateful for the full support of his wife, Kim, who also serves as the team manager. She is the glue that keeps everything organized and is by his side as they navigate weekends filled with back-to-back games. While they know their weekends will eventually be their own again, for now, they wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. Until that day comes, they can be found somewhere on the pitch.

Communications Director

As a proud mother of three, Chelsea’s life currently revolves around soccer. She has spent the last decade cheering on her daughters as they play, from recreational matches to competitive club tournaments, witnessing their growth both in skill and relationships. Chelsea is deeply grateful for the club, which feels like a family—a supportive community where everyone uplifts one another.

Over the years, she has come to appreciate that soccer is not just about goals but about building character, resilience, and lifelong friendships. Outside of soccer, she can usually be found baking, homeschooling, or spending time with her family and animals.
