North Clackamas Soccer Club welcomes furry friends at our home games, but we request that you follow all posted signs and only bring well behaved pets.

Please check the field policies of any away venues. Our friends in Oregon City have strict no dog policies at some of their sites and they will be asked to leave.

Well, first off, thank you for coming to our FAQs page to ask that question and not yelling at our referees! Please refer to our code of conduct and then reach out to our Referee Coordinator if you have any questions: assignor@ncsoccerclub.com

ALL Spectators are to be on the sideline OPPOSITE of the teams. Coaches & players will remain on their own half of the side they are on.

YES! Please share this player code of conduct with you child. It is important that they hear the rules from you too!

  • Always respect the referees. Some of these referees might be your friends. How would you treat them if you knew them. Think of them as your friend.
  • Courtesy and sportsmanship are as much a part of sports activities as are the skills and rules of the game.
  • Be punctual to practices and games; follow the directions and teachings of the coach.
  • Always respect the coach, your teammates, and the opposing team players – without them there would be no game.
  • Always play your best, play fairly, and play for fun.
  • Respect and follow the directions of the referee and the assistant referees; they are the law on the field of play.
  • Leave your temper and inappropriate language at home. Derogatory remarks will not improve your game.
  • Refrain from using vulgar or foul language at any time.
  • Do not criticize the play of others and do not blame others (including the referee crew) for your own poor playing.
  • Keep the game moving. Move the required distance from the ball for free kicks as quickly as possible. Leave enough room for a throw-in. Be ready to start play immediately upon the referee’s signal.
  • Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Congratulate your opponent and extend thanks to the game officials after the competition, whether you win or lose.
  • Players are honor-bound to aid the officials in enforcing the Laws of the Game. Do not argue with the officials or berate them if you think they have made a bad call.

Recreational soccer does not require specific numbers for players. Your player can choose to add any number to their jersey or not have any number at all.

*Tournaments will require no duplicate numbers. Ask your coach if you may be participating in a tournament.

Unfortunately no player will  be allowed to participate in games with piercings in place. They will be asked to remove them and if unable, they will be directed to the sidelines. The rules do not allow taping, Band-Aids, or other coverings/placeholders. We encourage players to wait until the season is over to get piercings.

Not a problem! Your child can wear prescription glasses on the field (transition lenses are ok). We do encourage sports goggles so there are no facial injuries from flying balls.

Sunglasses will not be allowed.

Pre-K to 2nd Grade Questions

Generally, we hold 2-3 weeks of practice before we start to incorporate games. Your coach will communicate practice times/locations with you.

***Note: we often are still finalizing rosters and adding new coaches and players right up until a few days before the season starts. This can cause a delay in you receiving your child’s team information. We want to make sure every child has a chance to play and that all of our coaches have passed a background check for the safety of our players. We appreciate your patience.

Your coach will guide your player through a series of games, activities, and scrimmages, all with a focus on having fun while learning the fundamentals of soccer.

In the Spring games will be played on Saturdays at Meldrum Bar park against Gladstone Soccer Club. Please see our programs page for rules.

In the Fall we will have all our games during the week at Bilquist Elementary School and we will be playing other NCSC teams.

***Note: due to last minute roster changes and late registrations, we often do not have a game schedule until a week before games start. We appreciate your patience while we make sure every child has a chance to play.

In the Spring games usually start in April and in the Fall games start the 2nd or 3rd week of September.

A ball will be provided for your player. They are more than welcome to bring their own.

Make sure your player has plenty of water.

Individual teams may opt to coordinate snacks.

Offer to coordinate snacks, bring a canopy, help set up the field! As a volunteer run club we are always looking for help and your coach with greatly appreciate it!

3rd grade thru High School Questions

All players on a team (except the goalkeeper) will wear their club’s official uniform in all league games. The home teams will wear their ‘dark’ jerseys; away teams will wear their ‘light jerseys.

Goalies must wear a color that no one else is wearing.

In case of teams appearing in uniform colors that are similar, the home team will change their jersey or wear pinnies.

No equipment may be worn which can be a danger to another player. Padded casts can be worn, but they must be approved by the referee. The player may not play if the referee says no. Braces containing metal will not be allowed under any circumstances. Hardbilled baseball caps are not allowed.

While players will wear their eyeglasses, sunglasses are not allowed. We recommend wearing eye goggles for protection.

Shin guards must be worn to all practices and games, and they must be completely covered by socks.

No jewelry of any kind is allowed. Earrings, watches, bracelets, metal barrettes, bobby pins, and other metal items may not be worn at any time – including practices. Taping of earrings or other jewelry is not allowed. If a player is required to wear a medical bracelet or medical necklace, this may be taped over. If no tape is available, and a parent is present, the bracelet must be removed. The player will not play if the medical bracelet or medical necklace is not taped over or removed.

While soccer cleats are recommended, turf shoes or regular tennis shoes may also be worn. If wearing soccer cleats, they must be made of molded rubber and the shoes may not have toe cleat of any kind. Toe cleats must be removed before the player may enter the field of play. The referee has the final decision on whether a player is properly attired.
